Tyrone joined The Compton School’s Science department as a newly qualified teacher having completed his PGCE at Kings College London. After his first year of teaching, he was appointed as the 3i/c for KS3 Science and further progressed to 2i/c for KS4 Science and Head of Biology shortly after. Tyrone has also had various mentoring roles within the Science department developing teachers new to the profession. In 2022, he led the Biology Department at The Compton School to achieve the highest A-Level results in their history.  

For the Middlesex Learning Trust, he supports improvement in Science across Trust schools, working closely to raise standards in the subject. He believes that education goes beyond academia and has been at the forefront of various extra-curricular fitness clubs, which culminated in the first ever basketball team at The Compton School. Tyrone believes that all students should have a high-quality education, regardless of their ability and background. 

His mission is to raise the profile of Science and to develop well-led MLT Science departments with the aim to be the most successful in the country.
